This antique piece was made by the Georges Dreyfus pottery factory, established in Moret-sur-Loing and founded in 1890. The pitcher bears the model number "398" on the base.

The dog is depicted with great character, in a beautiful glaze with ochre and brown hues. Its dark green collar provides an elegant contrast, while the details of its fur, muzzle, and eyes demonstrate particularly expressive craftsmanship. The handle is discreetly integrated into the back of the figure.

Both functional and highly decorative, this pitcher is a true collector's item. It will find its place naturally in a collection of antique earthenware, slipware, or zoomorphic objects.
