The dynamic composition captures both horse and rider in motion, with the horse supported above an oval base to heighten the impression of a full gallop. Detailed modeling defines the musculature of the horse and rider, flowing mane and tail, clothing, hair, feathers, and equipment. The dark bronze-tone metal finish emphasizes the sculptural details and gives the work the appearance of a traditional Western bronze.
