Approx. 10 1/4" Wide x 13 1/8" Long x 1 1/2" Deep.
Stunning, scarce antique architectural portfolio: "Le Petit Trianon: Architecture, Décoration, Ameublement" featuring historical notices and curations by French art historian Léon Deshairs.
Published in Paris by the Librairie des Arts Décoratifs around 1908, this oversized folio serves as a definitive visual record of Ange-Jacques Gabriel’s masterpiece chateau at Versailles—famously gifted to Queen Marie Antoinette.
The collection includes beautiful, crisp black-and-white plates capturing fine exterior views, intricate floor plans, delicate interior wood paneling (boiseries), moldings, and period furniture details from the estate.
This copy contains 102 plates out of the original 102 plates. It is 100% complete with all plates and text pages present.
Great antique condition. Housed in its original paper-covered boards. Shows moderate edge-wear, bumping to the corners, light surface scuffing, water spotting and minor fading consistent with its age. The original cloth spine is intact. The cloth ribbon ties are present and functional. The loose-leaf pages show light uniform age-toning to the margins, but remain overall clean, flat. First page has "its 15.00" written in pencil top right corner. All other pages are free of writing. First few pages have slight yellowing of edges. Normal wear from use and age.
