The body is constructed from polished hardwood with smoothly contoured sides, fitted with copper hardware accents including a front bumper rail and trim details. A domed green leather panel forms the hood, evoking the fabric or leather engine covers seen on early automobiles of the interwar period. The box opens via a sliding top mechanism that reveals an interior compartment intended for loose tobacco or small personal items. Rolling wooden wheels and elongated proportions give the piece a playful yet accurate silhouette drawn from early automotive design language.

Figural tobacco boxes like this were produced by specialty novelty and giftware manufacturers during the early 20th century, capitalizing on the growing fascination with automobiles as symbols of modernity, leisure, and technological progress. Often sold through tobacconists or gift shops, these objects combined functional storage with lighthearted, contemporary design. See less
