This is a striking vintage pair of gilt bronze candlesticks, each modelled as a kneeling figure holding a lotus-form candle cup aloft with both hands. The figures are cast in a serene, attentive pose with detailed robes and gentle facial expressions, and they rest on circular lotus-petal bases. The bronze is finished in bright gold gilding with a rich, luminous patina, and the undersides are finished in dark metal. The pair is substantial and well-cast, ideal for altar use or as decorative accents.
