This is a striking vintage pair of Chinese cloisonné enamel candlesticks, featuring a dragon and phoenix motif. Each candlestick is crafted from a copper body with intricate wire inlay and polychrome enamel decoration on a red ground, with a turquoise enamel band near the base. One is adorned with a gilt dragon, the other with a gilt phoenix, both highlighted with gold gilding. The top of each candlestick features a gilt lotus-petal candle cup, and the base is decorated with floral scrollwork. The pieces are a fine example of traditional Chinese cloisonné craftsmanship.
