This is an elegant vintage Chinese scholar's desk set, carved from rosewood (Huali wood) in the form of bamboo stalks. The piece combines a brush holder (bitong), a brush rest, and a central vertical support with openwork carving, all mounted on a rectangular base. The wood features a rich, warm patina with visible grain, and the bamboo nodes are smoothly carved and highly detailed. The set is a classic example of Chinese literati desk accessories, designed to hold and display calligraphy brushes.
