Original U.S. WWII M1 steel helmet with original liner and chinstrap, attributed to Colonel Jake L. Wilk, who served as a fighter pilot during World War II and the Korean War. It has the number 81 as a low heat stamp, circa 1941
The helmet retains its original front-seam shell, original liner, original chinstrap, and period field wear. Interior retains a painted identification marking (see photographs). This helmet has remained in the Wilk family and is being offered from the family’s collection.
Condition is untouched with honest age and service wear. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
A scarce opportunity to own an attributed U.S. military helmet with documented family provenance.
We are keeping one and offering one to the public.
