A small group of ducks paddles through rippled shallows at the edge of a marsh, with reeds and grassy tussocks behind them and a lone bird crossing overhead. The brushwork is loose and confident, the palette a harmony of umber, straw and silvery blue.

Sourced from a private Swedish collection.
