Set of two Japanese bamboo baskets, probably dating from circa 1950–1960, Shōwa period, Japan. Both baskets are handwoven and have a rounded, slightly bulbous shape with a sturdy woven rim.
Dimensions: both baskets: height 30 cm. Largest basket: diameter 44 cm. Smallest basket: diameter 43 cm.
The bamboo has developed a warm natural patina and shows signs of age and use that suit their vintage character. The fine woven structure and simple form make the baskets both functional and decorative.
