Set of two Japanese bamboo baskets, dating from circa 1950–1960, Shōwa period, Japan. The baskets are handwoven from fine bamboo strips and have a broad, gently curved shape with a sturdy woven rim.
Dimensions: height 14 cm, width 45 cm, depth 40 cm.
The bamboo has developed a warm natural patina, with visible signs of age and use. The fine, regular weave and simple form give the baskets an authentic mid-century Japanese character.
A decorative set that works beautifully together or separately as baskets, trays or interior objects.
