Model 71 was designed in 1951 and was the first chair that Niels Otto Møller created for his own furniture collection. It was the beginning of a significant design legacy and is today one of his most well-known and appreciated models. The timeless design language makes the chair just as obvious in modern homes as in classic and Scandinavian environments.

The chair has an organically designed teak frame, with soft, undulating lines and a beautifully crafted backrest. The backrest tray consists of several layers of molded veneer, which has made it possible to create its elegant bend and flexible shape. The result is comfortable support for the back and a silhouette that is both light and sculptural.

The rear legs run beautifully up towards the back and angle in towards the backrest. The construction gives the chair its characteristic expression and at the same time contributes to the ergonomic shape. The sculpted, slightly tapered legs reinforce the neat and elegant impression, while the soft profile of the seat makes the chair inviting and comfortable.

The seats have been professionally reupholstered in Hallingdal 65, designed by Nanna Ditzel for Kvadrat, in color 200. The durable wool and viscose upholstery fabric has a warm beige tone that creates a nice contrast against the deep color of the teak and highlights the natural luster of the wood. The combination of solid natural materials, well-balanced proportions and high quality craftsmanship is typical of Niels Otto Møller's furniture.

The chairs are stamped on the side of the seat and are in very good condition, with only a few traces of use. The newly upholstered seats have been made by a professional craftsman, and the chairs are ready to be used and appreciated for many years to come.
