These chairs were discovered … Read more A matched set of original Herman Miller Eames Dining Side Shells, originally delivered January 6, 1969. These chairs were discovered in a climate-controlled government warehouse and acquired directly — unrestored, untouched, and in remarkable condition.

The chairs carry clear, matching five-layer provenance documentation that almost never survives intact on chairs of this vintage: a fully legible Colorado State Bedding Revenue stamp, the manufacturer's Connecticut registration (CONN-2097, Michigan — Herman Miller's Zeeland headquarters), a hand-stamped delivery date of January 6, 1969, and Summit Plastics' embossed circle-S alongside a diamond-stamped "IND GRADE" mark on the underside of each fiberglass shell.

Those shells retain their original green vinyl-over-latex-foam seat pads, still soft and supple after fifty-seven years. The zinc-plated H-bases are complete with original glides and show only minor surface oxidation consistent with age.

These are not dealer-restored chairs with replaced shock mounts and aftermarket bases — they are time-capsule originals, uniform in color and condition, from a single documented source.
