Dramatic signed metal floor sculpture by noted New York artist and designer Silas Seandel.
This striking sculptural work rises from an organic metal base into a group of tall, gracefully curving stems supporting multiple radiating starburst forms. Dozens of slender metal rods project from each center, creating an airy, explosive composition reminiscent of fireworks, dandelions or celestial bursts.
The varying heights and sizes of the starbursts give the sculpture exceptional movement and dimension. Despite its substantial height, the open construction gives it a light, architectural presence and creates dramatic shadows as the light changes throughout the day.
Seandel is particularly known for his sculptural approach to metal and his use of varied techniques and finishes to transform metal into expressive, organic forms.
