A striking Chinese bronze sculpture featuring a dynamic dragon perched atop a treasure basin. The dragon is intricately detailed with scales, flowing mane, and horns, finished with extensive gold (gilt) accents. It is depicted with one claw resting on a golden pearl and the other grasping a traditional auspicious object. The basin base is decorated with raised calligraphy and symbols. The base bears an impressed four-character seal mark. A wonderful statement piece for a scholar's desk or as a decorative object.
