A beautifully crafted Chinese rectangular tray or display stand, likely made of Huali (rosewood). The piece features a low gallery rim dotted with small mother-of-pearl accents and an intricately carved, openwork apron along the sides, resting on scrolled feet. The flat center is exquisitely decorated with intricate mother-of-pearl (shell) inlay, depicting a traditional scene of a spotted deer, a red-crowned crane, and a gnarled pine tree, classic symbols of longevity and prosperity. A sophisticated piece for displaying teaware, scholar's objects, or collectibles.
