A beautifully crafted Chinese round tray or display stand, made of dark Zitan wood. The tray is enclosed by a low, openwork gallery rail with vertical supports. The flat center is exquisitely decorated with intricate mother-of-pearl (shell) inlay, depicting a classic scene of a spotted deer, a red-crowned crane, and a gnarled pine tree, all traditional symbols of longevity and auspiciousness. A sophisticated piece for displaying teaware, scholar's objects, or collectibles.
