This is a dark-chocolate colored, hand-tooled, embossed, leather cushion on top of a richly stained, Egyptian camel saddle/stool. A Moroccan family stamped the floral and geometric patterns into the leather, and did a beautiful job creating a super-thick cushion, with gorgeous piping along the edges.
These stools or foot rests were extremely popular in the 1950’s, when families were looking to incorporate other cultures’ styles in to their homes.
These frames are constructed with mortise and tenon joints—and this one is quite durable and steady. Children LOVE the idea of “riding” a camel or horse, while watching an “Indiana Jones” movie, too! ;)
This piece is a heavier-duty model—not delicate or flimsy. It weighs 10.9 lbs
