This beautiful antique rug has a quiet, timeless quality, with a softly faded palette of ivory and blue and a composition rooted in the decorative aesthetics of the early 20th century.
A small central medallion provides the starting point for the design, with simple geometric elements and stylized floral motifs unfolding across the field. The restrained drawing gives the rug a particularly graceful appearance, allowing the softened colors and subtle variations of the antique surface to remain part of its character.
The antique wash has further muted the palette, creating a gentle, timeworn appearance in which the ivory and blue tones blend beautifully together. The result is an understated antique that would work equally well in a traditional setting or alongside more contemporary furnishings.
