A matching armchair and ottoman from Guy Chaddock & Co.'s Westbourne Collection, upholstered in a rich paisley tapestry of gold, mustard, teal, rust, and cream over a carved, hand-distressed wood frame.
The Louis XIII-style chair has a tall, gently arched back upholstered front and back, open arms that sweep down into carved scroll handholds on shaped scroll supports, and scrolled legs joined by a carved H-stretcher. The large rectangular ottoman is covered in the same tapestry, stands on shaped cabriole legs, and doubles as a footrest or extra perch. Antiqued nailhead trim outlines the chair back, the seat, and the ottoman.
Guy Chaddock built its name on hand-distressed, old-world finishes, and this set shows it: warm, worn-in wood against a saturated, traditional textile. It works as a reading chair, a bedroom or library seat, or a statement piece in a French Country, English, or collected traditional room. Sold together as a set of two pieces (chair and ottoman).
Maker's label reads "The Westbourne Collection / Guy Chaddock & Co. / Bakersfield, California" (see photo). Guy Chaddock made its furniture in Bakersfield until the company moved production to North Carolina in 2004.
