Description:
A sculptural round dining table with a cast stone top and a carved Gothic-arch pedestal base. The top has a softly molded edge and a mottled, finely crackled surface in warm putty and limestone tones. It rests on a cruciform base of four interlocking panels, each pierced with a tall lancet opening and finished with lobed, trefoil-like details. The base stands on a shaped plinth with scrolled feet. The plaster-like finish gives the whole piece the look of aged carved stone, so it reads as architectural in a dining room, entry, or breakfast room.

The top is secured to the base with iron mounting plates, so it is sturdy and stable.

The current owners purchased this table from the Michael Taylor showroom in the late 1990s. It has no visible maker's mark, and the original receipt is not available, so it is offered as purchased from the Michael Taylor showroom per the owners' recollection, in the Michael Taylor Designs style.
