The cylindrical vessel features a creamy, all-over crackle glaze and is hand-painted in vibrant Famille Rose enamels with a lively figural scene depicting young boys gathered around a large water vat, a classic motif known as "Sima Guang Smashing the Vat." The scene is set in a garden with banana leaves, rockwork, and a pavilion. The reverse side features black calligraphy with red seal marks. The base bears a red six-character "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" (Made in the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing) mark. A wonderful addition to a scholar's desk or as a decorative object.
