The Chapman Manufacturing Company, in Massachusetts, opened in the mid 20th century and produced high-end, decorative lighting, and brass assemblies, for upscale homes. Chapman was known for their skilled artisans, who combined solid brass with hand-blown glass, to create traditional statement, lighting pieces, that were inspired by Georgian and Regency designs. Each piece is stamped with their Maker’s Mark (as shown in the last picture), featuring a shield shape, topped with a small crown, enclosing a stylized monogram (resembling the letters “G” and “F” and a cross motif. Based on their distinctive design and matching auction records, these pieces were manufactured by the renowned Chapman Manufacturing Co.
These sconces look beautiful in hallways, dining rooms and libraries—they frame paintings and pictures quite nicely.
