A charming Chinese porcelain brush pot (bitong). The cylindrical vessel features a creamy, all-over crackle glaze and is hand-painted in vibrant Famille Rose enamels with a dynamic scene of black horses beneath a gnarled pine tree, accented with red bats (a symbol of blessings). The reverse side features black calligraphy reading "马上有福" (Blessings Upon the Horse), a traditional auspicious phrase, along with red seal marks. The base bears a red six-character "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" (Made in the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing) mark. A wonderful addition to a scholar's desk or as a decorative object.
