A striking Chinese porcelain brush pot (bitong) featuring a creamy, all-over crackle glaze. The cylindrical vessel is vividly hand-painted with a vibrant green and red dragon soaring above stylized blue crashing waves, accented with auspicious flaming pearls. The base bears a red six-character "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" (Made in the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing) mark. A wonderful addition to a scholar's desk or as a decorative object.
