A charming Chinese porcelain brush pot (bitong). The cylindrical vessel features a creamy, all-over crackle glaze and is hand-painted in vibrant Famille Rose enamels with a lively figural scene of young boys gathered around a large golden treasure bowl, a traditional Chinese motif representing wealth and prosperity. The reverse side features black calligraphy reading "招財進寶" (Ushering in Wealth and Prosperity) with red seal marks. The base bears a red six-character "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" (Made in the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing) mark. A wonderful addition to a scholar's desk or as a decorative object.
