Fuller is highly celebrated for his iconic wildlife covers and interior illustrations for Field & Stream during the golden age of American sporting art. This dynamic piece, titled "Mallards in the Reeds," depicts a mallard drake in mid-descent with wings flared over a marshy reed bed, while a hen rests calmly on the water below.
The piece features ironclad provenance: attached to the dust cover is the original, handwritten entry label from the prestigious Salmagundi Club's 1953 Thumb-Box Exhibition.
The artwork has been recently preserved using high-end conservation materials. It is housed in a handsome solid walnut wood frame with a deep forest green double mat. It is protected by Tru Vue UltraVue UV70 glass, providing up to 70% UV protection and a virtually invisible, anti-reflective finish. It is an investment-grade piece for a traditional study, library, or hunting lodge. See less
