Textiles of this type were produced as important elements of interior decoration, where woven and embroidered fabrics enriched aristocratic and affluent domestic settings. Rather than being originally conceived as a pillow, the historic textile has been preserved and adapted into a decorative cushion, allowing the centuries-old material to remain functional while retaining its original visual character.

The front is worked in wool and silk, materials that provide both substantial woven texture and finer areas of detail. The composition is especially distinctive for its large, sweeping curvilinear compartments outlined in warm brown. These broad divisions create an almost architectural framework across the textile, with contrasting areas of deep indigo blue, warm beige, taupe, and soft sage green. Stylized flowering stems appear selectively within the larger fields rather than covering the entire surface.
