A unique vintage table lamp with an amber glass shade, ikea model b9512, dating from the 1960s–1990s.
this elegant and highly decorative vintage table lamp features a slender, sculptural silhouette and represents an intriguing blend of design elements from various periods of the second half of the 20th century.
the base consists of the distinctive, tall metal body of the ikea model b9512, retaining its original manufacturer's label on the underside.
the lamp’s standout feature, however, is its striking amber glass shade, sourced from a different vintage lamp. Its organic, wide-spreading, and undulating form stylistically echoes the mid-century modern and space age aesthetics characteristic of the late 1960s and 1970s.
based on its shape and style, the shade can be tentatively dated to approx. 1965–1975.
the combination of a tall, silvery base and a large, honey-amber glass shade creates a striking decorative piece that looks great in classic interiors as well as in mid-century modern, vintage, modernist, eclectic, or contemporary settings.
when lit, the glass takes on a remarkably warm, golden-amber glow, creating an atmospheric light.
