An elegant vintage wall sconce designed by the renowned master Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso. The shade is crafted from fine, transparent Murano glass using the distinctive and complex “rostrato” (diamond-pointed) glass technique—a famous stylistic innovation that creates extraordinary plays of refraction and sculpted light reflections. Ercole Barovier was the pioneer and renowned inventor of the “rostrato” glass technique, which involves pulling and shaping molten glass by hand with pliers to form numerous small protruding points or pyramids (the “rostri”). When light passes through these facets, it is refracted, creating a distinctive luminous and sparkling effect. The glass shade rests on an elegant, original brass wall mount featuring horizontal grooved detailing and a vintage patina. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
