Additional Details:
Playful mid-century figurative painting depicting a glamorous blonde woman relaxing in a bubble-filled bath. Wearing a red-and-white striped headscarf, she raises one arm while blowing soap bubbles against a vivid turquoise background. A black vanity tray holding decorative cosmetic containers and a hand mirror rests along the coral-colored edge of the tub. The stylized composition, saturated palette, and polished treatment reflect the visual language of period fashion and advertising illustration. Signed “Robert Patterson” at the lower right and presented under glass in a wooden frame with fabric matting.
Robert Patterson studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and became a prominent American commercial illustrator whose work appeared in magazines including Vogue, McCall’s, and Cosmopolitan.
