Roses climb around the chairs’ oval lattice backs, appear beneath their seats, and encircle the tabletop. The repeating design gives the three pieces a unified look from every angle.

The chairs have pierced seats and gracefully curved legs, with floral castings extending down the front of each frame. The table stands on three slender, scrolling legs joined by a decorative central stretcher. Together, the openwork and sculpted details give this substantial set an airy silhouette that suits a garden terrace as beautifully as a conservatory or covered porch.

Its weight speaks to the solidity of the construction: the table weighs 40 pounds, and each chair weighs 31 pounds. The table and chair legs have high-strength rubberized feet that are screwed into their bottoms to protect the surface beneath. The set has been refinished in gloss black, bringing definition to the roses and latticework.

Made in the Victorian Revival style and dating to the 1960s, this intimate set offers a striking place for morning coffee, an afternoon conversation, or a quiet corner of the garden. The pieces bear no maker’s marks, so the American foundry remains unidentified.
