Exceptional large vintage hanging planter composed almost entirely of natural seashells and delicate strung shellwork, creating a dramatic multi-tiered basket with an almost chandelier-like silhouette.
The elaborate design features multiple graduated tiers framed with rows of dark brown natural shells, densely arranged cream and ivory shells, cascading strands of shell beads, scalloped shell fringe, and suspended shell accents. The shells are connected with fine thread/filament, giving the piece its beautifully intricate, airy construction.
At approximately 38 inches long, this is a substantial statement piece that is spectacular displayed on its own or styled with a trailing plant or botanical arrangement.
