A beautiful antique walnut and burl wood arched wall mirror, dating to approximately the 1920s, with a substantial architectural form and wonderfully warm aged patina.
The mirror features a dramatic dome-shaped top with deeply layered, stepped molding inspired by classical architectural forms. Figured burled wood columns flank the mirror, adding subtle movement and richness to the warm walnut frame. Projecting details at the base of the arch give the piece the presence of an architectural doorway or window surround.
The construction visible on the reverse—including the substantial wood backing and traditionally assembled frame—is consistent with an earlier 20th-century piece and adds to its wonderful sense of age and craftsmanship.
