A striking antique collection of The Works of Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield, published by M. Walter Dunne, New York and London, circa 1904.
This collection comprises 18 volumes from the original 20-volume Empire Edition, with Volumes XI and XIII absent. Bound in elegant pale gray-blue cloth, each volume features a distinctive red/rust and gilt oval spine cartouche surmounted by a coronet, creating a beautiful and cohesive presentation when displayed together on a bookshelf or library table.
The volumes contain the novels, political writings, correspondence, speeches and other works of Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881), the celebrated British author and statesman who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The books are particularly appealing as an antique library collection or decorative book set, with their softly aged gray-blue bindings, warm red-and-gold spine decoration and naturally timeworn appearance. Interior decorative title pages add further visual interest.
Included are Volumes I–X, XII, and XIV–XX.
Volumes XI and XIII are not included.
An impressive group of early-20th-century books with wonderful Old World library character—ideal for a traditional, English country, Grandmillennial, Victorian, collected or eclectic interior.
Dimensions shown are per each book.
