Created during the 1990s, the handheld assemblage reflects the artist’s imaginative transformation of discarded everyday materials into richly textured works of art.

The sculpture features a circular, gold-painted form surrounded by pointed elements fashioned from colorful beverage-can fragments. A reflective red square forms the focal point of the composition, framed by a turquoise border and smaller glittering accents. Its elongated, curving handle is assembled from stacked buttons, discs, bottle-cap fragments, and other found materials in an assortment of colors and finishes.

The radiating silhouette and jewel-like center give the piece the appearance of a ceremonial scepter or symbolic talisman. Its visible handwork, recycled materials, bold color, and playful construction exemplify the expressive spirit associated with outsider and self-taught art.
