A beautifully made English-style chest of drawers, exceptionally well veneered in richly figured burr elm with wonderful swirling grain, knots and warm honeyed colour throughout. The top is particularly attractive, with carefully matched burr veneers framed by fine line inlay. The chest features four graduated drawers with decorative pierced brass handles, together with a useful pull-out brushing/dressing slide concealed beneath the top. Raised upon a traditional shaped bracket plinth, the restrained Georgian-inspired form allows the spectacular burr timber to take centre stage. A handsome and highly decorative piece of traditional English cabinet furniture, combining the character of antique design with more recent manufacture.
