Since virtually all kimonos are identical in fabric dimensions, they become canvases for art to be worn following certain strictures regarding color and design placement. These pieces take artistic liberties with those norms to capture the simplicity of the kimono form -including the Obi- while using color and design at home in today's residential and business environments.

The pair represents the front and the back of a kimono, each floated on a 12"x12" cradled wood panel framed in a 1⅝” deep wood frame with a finished size of 13¼"x13¼" square. The final firing purposely leaves the surface matte to be more true to a fabric. They may be arranged horizontally as shown or vertically if you prefer.

Each piece is titled, signed, and dated on the back. A metal French cleat and bumpers are attached for secure hanging and to insure the frame sits straight against the wall. Just install the included hanger on your wall for your perfect presentation. See less
