"Atlas Melody," 1994, a limited edition abstract metal sculpture by Brad Howe (American, b.1959), edition 5 of 20. Signed, editioned, and dated to the side edge: BRAD HOWE 5 of 20 1994.
This boldly colored work of interlocking metal shapes is a maquette after Howe's monumental sculpture at Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Mexico. It evokes the spirit of the Memphis Group and Alexander Calder — a postwar abstract lineage Howe consciously extends. Howe has exhibited in more than eighteen countries, with public commissions for MIT, Temple University, and the City of Beverly Hills.
The tabletop scale makes it ideal for a desk, shelf, or pedestal.
