Crafted from solid walnut, these chairs are distinguished by their fine craftsmanship, rich carved ornamentation, and elegant turned elements.

Their design reflects the historicist style of the second half of the 19th century. Characteristic features include upholstered backrests topped with a boldly profiled, hand-carved crest, delicate carved ornaments, turned legs, and decoratively shaped stretchers. The front seat rail is adorned in the center with a relief-carved shell motif. The set presents a harmonious and stately appearance.

An extraordinary asset of this set is the fact that all 16 chairs have survived in a matching design. Such extensive, uniform sets of historic seating furniture rarely appear on the market; they are ideally suited for a large dining or conference table, a château interior, a formal dining room, a historic hotel, a restaurant, or a private residence.

The chairs have undergone a complete professional restoration. Their structures have been reinforced, and the wooden components expertly treated.
