When switched on, this lamp instantly conjures a corner office circa 1985 — sleek, confident, and just a little theatrical. Designed by Alfred Homann for Louis Poulsen, the "Rappe Louis" is molded as a single, continuous Z-bend in bold purple ABS plastic, its stylized duck-beak head giving the lamp both its nickname and its unmistakable postmodern silhouette.
Now considered one of the most recognizable examples of Scandinavian postmodernism, "Rappe Louis" is a favorite among collectors of 1980s design for its wit, its slim profile, and its instantly identifiable silhouette.
Perfect for a home office, studio desk, or reading nook — its flat, space-saving footprint makes it ideal for smaller desks where every inch counts. The bold purple tone and confident postmodern shape suit an eclectic or design-forward interior especially well. This piece has an attribution mark,
