It's one of the most recognisable british designs of the 1950s, and it still looks sharp today.

the chest is veneered in richly figured walnut, with a bold striped grain running across the top and down the sides. Four deep drawers sit inside a crisp black frame, each with a long, sculpted recessed handle picked out in black. These are the signature detail of the c range, giving the front a strong graphic look with no hardware to break the lines. Black tapered legs finish it off neatly.

the mirror sits on two wooden arms fixed to the back, with the black-edged frame echoing the chest below. It tilts to the angle you want and can be removed if you'd rather use the chest on its own. The drawers are dovetailed and roomy, and the original stag furniture label is still in place inside the top drawer.

compact and practical, it works equally well as a dressing chest in a bedroom or as a stylish tall chest anywhere else. This piece has an attribution mark,
