A large English tureen with a ribbed profile and raised vertical grooves.
The condition is absolutely perfect despite its age, likely unused.
The ceramic body is decorated with a blue transferware decoration on a white background.
The central decoration depicts a Georgian rural scene with a post coach and horses ("Leaving the Village"). The rim and lid are adorned with a dense motif of neo-Baroque scrolls and floral garlands.
This refined piece features two large lateral handles with curved handles and a molded knob on the lid. The decoration, color, and protective glaze are resistant to detergents, as per the manufacturer's specifications of the time.
Perfect for use on an elegantly laid table or for purely decorative display. This piece has an attribution mark,
