Boulenger & cie period) in the late 19th century.
this set is distinguished by its exceptional and rare naturalistic "fruits et insectes" decoration, a highly sought-after and uncommon series compared to the classic floral motifs of the period.
the dark brown transfer designs depict both detailed fruits and large insects (bees, wasps, dragonflies) with scientific precision and antique grace.
the set includes a large tureen with a lid embellished with a remarkable pomegranate-shaped knob in relief and a majestic matching 39 cm oval serving plate.

the plate is in excellent condition, likely never used.
the tureen is structurally solid and shows normal signs of age, authenticating its age:
* fascinating and widespread crackle effect on the glaze.
* slight and genuine signs of wear on the handles and knob.
* a chip on the inside edge of the lid, not visible when the lid is placed on the tureen.
