Additional Details:
Arched landscape print depicting ruined stone aqueduct arches beneath a glowing gold and amber sky. Tall masonry piers and broken spans stretch across the composition, reflected in still water below. Rustic buildings nestle among the ruins, with cypress-like trees and dense foliage at the right. A winding foreground path carries a covered, animal-drawn cart accompanied by a figure in red. Ochre, russet, olive, and muted blue-gray tones give the scene a warm, atmospheric character.
The print is enclosed in a broad, reddish-brown wooden frame with a segmented curved top and straight lower rail. The reverse has a fitted backing panel secured with small metal fasteners. No legible artist signature or publisher identification is visible in the supplied photographs.
The subject may represent the Aqua Claudia near Rome, although the precise location remains unconfirmed. That aqueduct was begun under Caligula in AD 38 and completed under Claudius in AD 52. Appia Antica Archaeological Park The suggested comparisons to Carl Theodor Reiffenstein, Franz Knebel, and John Linton Chapman should be treated as stylistic references rather than artist attributions.
