The grand piece features solid oak and pine case construction crafted into three bays, each fitted with a single long drawer above a pair of two paneled cupboard doors. The top is crafted out of substantial wooden oak outer planks having rounded bullnose edges and pine inner planks. The case is fronted by fluted pilasters, each topped by a hand-carved scrolled acanthus design, in a Neoclassical motif. The entire case is raised atop a broad plinth base, grounding the piece. Authentic tool marks, 19th century peg joinery, and a beautifully natural aged honey patina showcase the French Provincial construction. The reverse retains a black painted a finish, suggesting use against a wall. The case is very heavy and solid with strong joinery and construction. The oak has a lovely distressed patina on the natural older bleached finish showing age and authentic wear as seen in photos. The piece is well-suited for a variety of spaces as a sideboard, credenza, dresser, bar, counter, console, storage, or as a display in a retail space.
