Striking large-format ornithological print by Natural Curiosities, depicting the historic “Abou Hannes,” or Sacred Ibis, after an illustration associated with Scottish explorer James Bruce’s late-18th-century travels through Egypt and Ethiopia.
The composition features the long-legged bird rendered in soft blue, gray, ivory and olive tones against an aged neutral ground, retaining the historic “Abou Hannes” title and “Bruce’s Travels” inscription below. The print bears the Natural Curiosities embossed studio mark at the lower right and retains the Natural Curiosities label on the reverse.
Presented under glass with a wide neutral linen-textured surround in a handsome dark faux-bamboo frame.
