Featuring a 9-inch terrestrial globe manufactured by the George F. Cram Company and mounted on its original painted metal pedestal base, this example retains a period Gilmore Oil advertising plaque reading "A World of Difference in Gilmore." The globe displays warm earth-tone cartography with political boundaries and ocean current markings characteristic of mid-century educational globes. Geographic nomenclature reflects the era of manufacture, including historic place names and political designations such as the USSR, Yugoslavia, Persia, and other period references that provide an authentic snapshot of mid-20th-century world geography.
