c. 1930s/1940s; Apex Battery Manufacturing Co. - Chicago, IL
Embossed tin lithograph advertising sign for Apex automobile batteries, featuring bold black lettering against a bright yellow ground with graphic illustration of an "Apex Superpower" storage battery. The composition uses oversized angular typography and high-contrast automotive graphics typical of interwar service station advertising, intended for visibility in garages, filling stations, and battery service shops. Reverse retains hand-painted "WET PAINT" lettering brushed across the back surface, suggesting secondary shop or workshop use after the sign's original advertising life.
