DSP (double-sided porcelain) enamel sign advertising JEWELRY / WATCH REPAIRING, designed in the form of a pocket watch with Roman numeral dial, sweeping hands, and bold gold-on-black graphics. The sign's silhouette and typography are immediately legible at a distance, making it an effective sidewalk or storefront display for jewelers and watchmakers. Hanging eyelets at the top corners indicate it was intended to project outward from a building or be suspended perpendicular to foot traffic, a common practice for small-town and urban repair shops alike.
Watch repair signs like this were fixtures of early 20th-century commercial streetscapes, signaling precision, reliability, and skilled labor at a time when personal timepieces were essential daily tools rather than accessories. The clock-face imagery reinforced the trade visually, even for passersby who may not have read the text. Double-sided porcelain examples were especially valued for their durability and visibility but were vulnerable to damage from weather, handling, and street-level hazards.

A large loss is present near one mounting hole on one side, with corresponding damage visible on the opposite face; the damage appears consistent with a high-impact puncture (gunshot, etc) sustained during the sign's service life. Despite losses, lettering and graphics remain strong and visually compelling. Porcelain retains good gloss in protected areas. less
